The YES Academy Lebanon, Youth Excellence on Stage, ran from August 1 to 15, 2009 at the American Community School in Beirut. With a faculty of ten from the United States' most prestigious universities and cultural institutions and over 200 participants from all corners of Lebanon, the 2009 YES Academy was an excellent first effort to bring quality performing arts education in American genres to Lebanese youth and young professionals. A real cross section of Lebanese talent was present at the Academy. Among the cities and regions represented were Tyre, Zahle, Bekaa Valley, Tripoli, Jounieh, Kaslik, Saida, Beit Meri and of course, Beirut.
