Taiwan: American Performing Arts Academy Taipei
First American Performing Arts Academy in Taiwan a Rousing Success
The American Performing Arts Academy in Taipei ran from August 10 to 15 in a first session of Hip Hop Dance and American Piano Repertoire and in a second session from August 16 to 23 for Broadway Musical theater.
All sessions were full and the program reached 125 young Taiwanese musicians, dancers and actors in an intensive study program.
Each session culminated in a gala concert, photos of which you will find below. The students and faculty gave memorable performances of excerpts from Broadway musicals, hip hop dance favorites and American piano repertoire ranging from Ragtime to Philip Glass.
