Azerbaijan: Baku Jazz Bridges
The Jazz Bridges Azerbaijan project brought together American Voices' jazz musicians, Mike Del Ferro (US) and Stian Carstensen (Norway) with traditional musicians from the National Museum of Traditional Instruments and the National Conservatory.
The concert played to an enthusiastic sold-out Philharmonic Hall, Baku's most prestigious venue.
We received so many messages of praise for this concert afterwards including these words of support from the Iraqi Ambassador to Baku,
‘I am sending this mail just to say it was a nice night and I hope that concerts like this could be held in Iraq soon.’
