Balkan Projects: From Bosnia to Greece
Balkan Initiatives
As a continuing effort to promote a better understanding of the American Culture in the Balkan region, American Voices, together with US Embassies in the region, has been conducting a series of projects in Bosnia, Albania, Croatia, Serbia, Kosovo and Greece. In activities designed to reach a wide public, American Voices has appeared in a variety of venues ranging from the Pavarotti Music Center in Mostar to Albania's widely-viewed television game show, Telebingo!
In Bosnia, we have participated in several projects designed to bring young musicians from various ethnic groups of the country together for masterclasses, choral singing and concerts. We have also ventured into Banja Luka and the Republika Serbska for music scores donations, choral workshops and well-attended and received public concerts.

"American Voices recently held an audience of 100 guests in rapt attention at my Residence. It was a gratifying moment, confirming the need as often as possible to let the arts speak, to represent the achievements and goodness of America. The pedagogical aspect to the project, with its lasting impact on the successor generation of young musicians is just as important as the group's professional concerts. In sum, I would certainly commend American Voices to any Ambassador who values cultural diplomacy. They show the finest side of American arts and artsts."
