'Camp Unity' documentary wins award at Indie Fest
The Indie Fest has notified us that Ryan White’s documentary film, CAMP UNITY, about our 2008 YES Academy program in Iraq, has won an Award of Excellence for Feature Documentary! The list of winners has been sent out by The Indie Fest in a press release and it has also been posted on their website www.theindiefest.com/Excell.aspxThe purpose of Indie Fest is to help filmmakers find distribution. From their website: "The Indie is a virtual festival. It does not have physical screenings. Rather, winners are promoted via targeted press releases to media outlets and The Indie’s email database of more than 28,000 filmmakers and industry insiders."
This award is a great honor for Ryan White’s efforts to portray American Voices’ summer academy in Iraq. It will e a great help as we prepare the world premier for this film.
