Donated Materials and Expertise Continue to Flow to Iraq

Unity Academy faculty Dr. Gene Aitken (Jazz) and Marc Thayer (Strings), plus others continued to support the flow of donations of instruments, musical supplies and music scores to our students and projects partners in Baghdad, Erbil and Suleimaniyah, Iraq. More donations are needed! If you would like to help, please contact American Voices and we will help you direct your donation. Among the donations sent in the past few months:
- A professional model P. Mauriat tenor saxophone donated by Roger Greenberg of Monte Verde Music in Greeley, Colorado to Muslih Omer, a young student from Rania, Iraq
- Music scores from the University of Northern Colorado Jazz Series and CDs of the the Chestnut Brass Quintet Series to the Iraq National Symphony Orchestra (INSO), Baghdad School of Music and Dance and to the Institutes of Fine Arts in Suleimaniyah and Erbil
- Percussion supplies and mallets donated by Prof Gray Barrier and woodwind and brass supplies and methods books donated by Dr. Gene Aitken to the INSO and to the Institutes of Fine Arts in Suleimaniyah and Erbil
