Summer Jazz & Broadway in Taiwan

The second year of the Summer Jazz Academy in Taiwan was a resounding success with student numbers up 30 per cent over 2004 and live audience attendance for the Academy concerts in the thousands. Performance highlights of the Academy included a faculty concert at the Family Concert Hall in Taipei City Hall and gala student concerts in the Dah-An Forest Park and the plaza of the National Concert Hall. This summer’s special guests included three students from Houston’s American Festival of the Arts.
The Broadway Academy was in its first year. True to our tradition in Taiwan, we were hit by a Typhoon in mid-week. The show must go on however, and the final gala concert was hugely popular with the Taiwanese public. Look for both events to return in 2006. Links to photos and more information below:
